I have played with shoes and had made a pair I had been gifting to friends and other unfortunates... This time however, I think I am ready to release them to the public at large. So far I only have two colors but am planning on several others. What do you think?

This is my response to Mickey's Weekend Challenge -
The reason it was a challenge to me was that it is so unusual for me. I did learn some delicate handlings in AvPainter - I also got to work on my patience quotient since I trashed the thing twice!
It is now available at Talon Faire Main Store- I will release it later at the other stores and OnRez and SlExchange.

On the Biz Merchant's Thread in SL Forums - http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread.php?t=274749&page=1&pp=40
a challenge was posted to come up with something unique-
Well, this is Unique to me- I first made these up to wear under a gorgeous set of body jewels I picked up from Rha! Designs that will be my attire in the upcoming release of the Women of the Undying Thread calendar- I really liked it and imagine it would be very in keeping with a dryad or forest sprite theme... Ladies and Gents- my first Fantasy Creation: Vines...

This will be my first attempt at ladies' intimates. I have created this corset, panties and stockings set that I shall release later tonight. Each link is hand drawn - every aspect of this set is created by hand - the original color source is a ruby for its sparkling clarity and richness of color. I hope it will be well received.

What we are doing must somehow be working for me- I had two prospective customers at Talon Faire this morning. Don't know yet if they bought anything since I had to rush off. But ... at least warm avies walking the place is closer than not!

Size of the advert boxes- they may look adequate, but get other opinions- in this case, bigger is better
Keep in mind the skin and hair of the model avie- light hair and and light skin work best against a dark background
Minimalism – less is more. Simplify to keep attention on the merchandise not the model
Marketing for what sells as opposed to just what appeals to you in order to increase sales
Have the destination TP close to our door or storefront
Look at Freestyle, FabFree and Free Dove as possible outlets that might garner attention.
Briefly talked of Youtube videos – Microsoft’s Windows Movie Maker- a free program- was mentioned as an easy tool for producing a vid from stills.
PrimPerfect was mentioned as an advertising option for furniture and décor oriented people: [slurl]http://www.primperfect.net/[/slurl]
Goodwill advertising- Jojo that mentioned how she does free custom work to encourage future sales for hopefully repeat customers.
Freebies to friends and good customers – hoping that when they wear it or show it- they will get the, “Oh where did you get that?” comment.
Free stuff to your group- make them come to your store to get it rather than deliver as an attachment- makes them look at what u offer.
Free to group members only- script to generate group only access
Offer a Teach Me option- generates good will and name recognition- if tied into big group like Etopia, benefit of already created group
Set your Freebies for sale- at Zero- this ensures you have a list of peeps who took the item- then u can approach them again for group membership or other. Thank yous very big on this- send them a thank you note with your LM and a group invite.
Other options- Cart Rentals- Free Yard Sale Adverts

So far I have visited Etcetera Furniture Accessories and Rose Encrusted Fantasy.
Etcetera located at: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Dream%20City/108/157/24
is owned by MickeyVandeverre. It is a hypercool and super modern locations with vibrant colors - the prim load isn't heavy and the prices are awesome. The store has great presentation - There is good flow to the store and it was easy to navigate. Good feel to the place- slick, and great selections.
Rose Encrusted Fantasy: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Dream%20City/108/157/24
Rhianna Larkham is the proprietress of Rose Encrusted Fantasy. The location is very clean and modern with glitzy brushed metal highlights. It is an effective showcase for her attractive modern styles- The store and the clothes are a perfect match - I liked the Monkey Mall store too though it was very low key and I did not find it easily. For the Monkey Mall store, I would ask if there was some signage options that could be set downstairs- directing prospective customers to her locale.
Next I looked at Imnotgoing Sideways - Darkly Cute: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ferguson/54/237/94
The store is absolutely adorable! Like a teapot or a ceramic container- the whole mall had such a sweet and wholesome appearance makes one wonder where the darkness comes in :)
I loved the little glasses and the poses on the wall were well displayed. The merchandise is definitely niche- market though. As such I wold try to get in some place that features similar if only for recognition- the glasses would be very at home in Caledon, I think- Also, it looks a tad sparse - a little unfinished. Perhaps more merchandise inside would complete the look and I would like to see something additional on the outside that draws attention. Overall, a welcoming place but to keep the buyer needs a little more punch through merchandising - the marketing we're working on-
Next I went to Kesseret Steeplechase's Kess Kreations: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Amira/42/84/22
I love the location- it was like strolling thru some elegant boutique area and encountering her store. Inside is a little barren which can detract from the merchandise since it looks unfinished in places. But Kes explained she is having a decorator come in and was, in fact adding some decorative touches when I arrived.
I found the displays easy to negotiate - easy rez, of a good size and informative. I would have liked to have seen some rezzed items, but I realize, prim count is a concern as it is for many of us.
In conclusion, Kes' store is inviting- it uses a minimalist appeal to get its understated elegance across to the shopper. I would add a little in the way of decor for impact- I think the store will look wonderful when complete. The colors were restful and understated. I have become a fan of LM givers- not the in your face sort- but the ones that are there and you choose to take or not- I think Kes should add an LM giver.
Just listed to SLExchange and OnRez - this enchanting Black Velvet and Linen gown features intricate cut-work and a curve hugging system skirt and top. The gown is Copy/Mod non Transfer- but if you want as a gift- please IM me in world. Than you and enjoy.
Please join my group Talon Faire and receive a multiple-use $100 Linden Rebate voucher for an purchase thru the month of August.
Maybe if I blog a few of these ideas it will inspire others on their quest. So here is what I have done so far. I created this blog and made it public access in hope others searching for SecondLife (TM) information will discover it and it will garner me more exposure. I put up a video of my catalogue in Youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2y1AGK12tI8
Using the Classifieds in SecondLife (TM) I first searched other designers to see what search words were working for them. Then, the ones that also fit my own offerings, I used in my adv- no use putting in "low-prim" when I sell clothes- not furniture! Then, as to how much I was willing to pay for my advert- I decided to start with just my weekly stipend of $300 L's - it is not an expense that way and it put me fairly high in the search. Of course, I intend to revisit this as my fortunes ebb and flow ;)
I am currently proposing a sort of SL Small Business Coalition- or Networking group where we the small designers and content creators may be able to contribute to each other's livelihood through support of each others' ventures and creative suggestions that may lead to increased exposure and sales for all.
Well- let's see how it goes ... Crossing various appendages as we speak.

Skin me a peach, save the fuzz for my pillow
Talk to me nice, talk to me nice
You've got to wine and dine me"
